Description Insurance and Banking is an insurance continuing education course about national bank insurance activities. Looks at the risks, controls and supervision of the insurance business transacted by banks. Shows the student a wide-ranging overview of the basic concepts involved in banks selling insurance. The enrollee will learn about the history of banks selling insurance. Examine the legal decisions, regulations and legislation that allow banks to sell insurance. Understand the risk assessment process as applicable to the bank’s insurance activities. Compare and examine bank and insurance regulatory frameworks. Be familiar with the legislative mandate that permits wider latitude for these types of entities to operate within a single financial holding company. |
