This is the eight-hour course required to sell long-term care insurance.  It is intended to give the student a comprehensive overview of the economic, tax aspect of and market for long-term care insurance. The enrollee will look at acceptable sales practices as well as those that are prohibited by the Insurance Code. The student will learn about long-term care contract provisions and how they affect consumers. The course examines how long-term care services and providers function. The book details long-term care products, features and benefits available. The student will become familiar with the regulations in the California Insurance Code that relate to long-term care insurance. Course participants will be familiar with legislation addressing long-term care insurance on the state and federal level. The student will understand sanctions, policy provisions, licensing, policy replacement and product advertising. The enrollee will review the relationship between LTC and federal Medicare/Medicaid programs.
